The Eve of Man by Giovanna & Tom Fletcher.
Wow. What a book! I haven’t been this gripped by a book since I read Stephanie Meyers ‘The Host’. The even better news is that it is going to be a Trilogy, the second book in the series is due to be published in early July 2019, so not too long to wait!
The Eve of Man is a really easy read, I flew through it! Partly to do with the narrative, Giovanna & Tom really do have one voice, its totally seamless. And the story is captivating, its not often that I am sad when a book ends but I really wanted to continue reading.
To give you a bit of back ground the blurb reads:
“All her life Eve has been kept away from the opposite sex. Kept from the truth of her past. But at Sixteen its time for Eve to face her destiny. Three potential males have been selected for her.The future of humanity is in her hands. She’s always accepted her fate.
Until she meets Bram.
Eve wants control over her life. She wants freedom. But how do you choose between love and the future of the human race?”
There has been an epidemic, Eve is the first girl to be born in fifty years and against all odds she survived. She lives in a controlled environment up in the clouds called the Dome, with a team of Mothers (who are now 60+ years old!) she is about to take the first steps in fulfilling her destiny. I am not going to tell you anymore as I don’t want to ruin the story, but give it a read, especially if its not something you would normally read!
Well I just got that one out before the end of January! Phew! February is going to be a thriller…I have not read one of those for a long time so keep your eyes peeled!
Until next month…
